Embracing the New Year

The beginning of a new year inspires a moment to pause and reflect on our journey up till now and to renew our focus on the road that lies ahead. Each year holds its own memories of our lessons & growth, love & loss, pride & humility—and every new year embraces what is possible with our intention and effort. I had the pleasure and fortune of collaborating with many wonderful people in 2019 and I will carry that passionate and focused energy with me into 2020!

I hope you will join me in celebrating the gifts and memories of the past year, and to embrace the possibilities of the next. I am excited to share with you what I am looking forward to in 2020:

++Working more closely within Mosaic Midwifery Collective as a unit to further collaboration, professional support, and resource sharing.

++Enhance public awareness and understanding of midwifery care through community outreach. We will build upon the insights we gained through our work last year—you can expect to see us hosting open informational sessions in schools, churches, and communal spaces throughout the city and region.

++Increasing my involvement with the educational aspects of Midwifery—I was invited to sit on the board of my alma mater, Birthwise Midwifery School and look forward to my new role. Additionally, the Mosaic Midwifery Collective Birth Assistant Training Program brings its 2019 recruits into 2020, and I’m excited to get them to a level of ease and comfort in their education & growth!

++Utilizing available platforms and tools, like this website and blog, to strengthen my business and to share information with all of you!

++Lastly, and most importantly, I will focus on self-care (I hope you will, too)! I want every person that I care for to feel like they are receiving the individualized care that they deserve.

And so, it is with honest reflection & more clarity that I welcome 2020. I wish you all a Happy New Year, full of possibility!

Birth Beautiful, Detroit.
